Puppies

I am excited to announce that I am planning a litter from Tori in the first half of 2025. My puppies are raised in our home, not in kennels, and are well socialised to the daily activities of family life. I follow the Puppy Culture program and its protocols, which ensures that my puppies receive the best start possible from the moment they are born until the day they leave for their new homes. The Puppy Culture program is instrumental in shaping well-balanced adult dogs. It focuses on socialising the puppies with people, various sights, surfaces, sounds, objects, and other animals, helping them develop into confident, well-adjusted pets. For more information about the Puppy Culture program, please visit: About Puppy Culture – PUPPY CULTURE

I believe strongly in meeting all my puppy buyers in person and invite them to visit when the puppies are 5 to 6 weeks old. During this visit, you'll have the opportunity to meet not only the puppies, but also their mum, myself, Dan, and all our dogs. If you're local, you're very welcome to come by multiple times to build that connection. Building a strong relationship with my puppy owners is incredibly important to me, and I ask for a commitment to stay in regular contact. I truly enjoy receiving updates and photos as the puppies grow and develop - it's one of the highlights of raising them!

The health and well-being of the puppies I breed is my top priority. I dedicate considerable time and effort to raising each puppy with love and care. My commitment extends beyond the moment they leave my care, and I am devoted to supporting both the puppies and their owners for the lifetime of the dog. As a breeder, I am available 24/7 to offer guidance, support, and advice whenever needed.

It's important for me to stay informed if any health issues arise with a dog I've bred, as I closely monitor this to make informed breeding decisions. I expect my puppy owners to keep me updated on any health concerns that may come up.

All the dogs used in my breeding program are tested for several different genetic conditions that affect Beagles, this ensures my puppies will not develop any of these genetic conditions. Both sire and dam of our planned 2025 litter have been health tested for the following genetic conditions:

  • Musladin-Lueke Syndrome (MLS)
  • Neonatal Cerebellar Cortical Degeneration (NCCD)
  • Imerslund-Grasbeck Syndrome (B12) Cobalamin Malabsoprtion (IGS)
  • Lafora - Myoclonic Epilepsy
  • Factor VII Deficiency (FVII)
  • Primary Open Angle Glaucoma (POAG)
  • Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency (PKD)

I provide a health guarantee for the testable genetic conditions and provide copies of the genetic testing results documents for both sire and dam of my litters. The health of the dogs I breed, and the breed overall is very important to me, I extensively research the breeding lines I use to do my absolute best to breed healthy dogs.

The puppies are registered with Dogs NZ (New Zealand Kennel Club) with an endorsement they are not to bred from. The puppies are sold with a contract which states each puppy at the appropriate age will need to be desexed (this is from 12 months to 24 months old). The puppies are dewormed at 2,4, 6 & 8 weeks old, flea treated, microchipped, had their first vaccinations and have a full vet check before going to their new homes from 8 - 10 weeks of age.

When you welcome a puppy from me, you’ll receive a comprehensive Puppy Pack to ensure you’re well-prepared for your new companion. This includes:

  • Premium puppy food & treats
  • A blanket with mum’s scent for comfort
  • Toys to keep your puppy entertained
  • A puppy collar and lead
  • 6 weeks of free Pet Insurance through Petcover
  • Essential diet information
  • A folder with NZKC registration documents, pedigree, genetic health test info of the sire and dam, vaccination card, microchip info, worming and flea treatment certificates
  • Helpful tips and information on how to raise your puppy

Additionally, I provide access to the Puppy Culture online program, With Open Arms and a Level Head, which I’ve personally used with my own puppy, Earl. It’s an excellent resource for new puppy owners and will be available to you prior to your puppy’s arrival. More details on the program can be found here: With Open Arms and a Level Head: How to bring puppy into your life - L – Madcap University

To further support you, I also have a private Facebook group for my puppy owners, where you can share photos, videos, updates, and connect with others in the community. I’m committed to helping you start your puppy’s journey with the right tools, resources, and ongoing support!

Beagles make wonderful family pets and are especially good with children. However, they may not be the right breed for everyone, so it's important to do thorough research before deciding if a Beagle is a good fit for your family. As scent hounds, Beagles are known for following their noses, which can sometimes lead them into mischief! To keep them safe, you'll need secure, high fencing that’s beagle-proof. Beagles are social dogs and do not enjoy being left alone for long periods. If you're out at work all day, a Beagle might not be the best match for your lifestyle. They thrive in environments where they are with their family, so having another dog as a companion could help. With time, patience, positive reinforcement training, and a family that can provide the attention and care they need, Beagles can make absolutely awesome family dogs.

If you're interested in a puppy, please email me with some information about yourself and your family. If you'd like more details about Beagles as a breed, feel free to reach out via email or phone. I'd be happy to help!
